We are often unaware of the forces at work beneath our conscious awareness, assuming that our problems can be fixed by reviewing what we think we already know about ourselves. We are much more than we ever reckoned, and therapy can help us to uncover hidden adaptations, complexes and motivating factors that operate outside of our awareness. My name is Richard Newbury and I have been a practising psychotherapist in the Richmond area for the past twenty years. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. I was Clinical Lead for Mind in this borough, as well as a trainer and supervisor for Relate. I am published in the field of psychosexual therapy, including a recent chapter inThe International Handbook of Sexual Addiction.
I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

I am a UKCP registered supervisor and a COSRT supervisor. I supervise couples therapy, psychosexual therapy and one-to-one therapy.
I am Course Leader of the Relate Psychosexual program and I supervise for Mind.
My practice is in Richmond, within 10 minutes walk of the rail and underground station.
